The successful completion of the second phase marks the installation of the last three wind turbines at the Arcadis Ost 1 wind farm.
HARCO Heavy Lifting was selected by Heerema Marine Contractors as a supplier for delivering a comprehensive Tagline System, complete with interfaces to the Heerema vessel Thialf for the Arcadis Ost 1 project. The process of installing the wind turbines commenced in November last year. In addition to supplying the Tagline System, HARCO provided manpower for the mobilization and operation of the system. Furthermore, Heerema invested in a digital twin of the tagline system and integrated this into their simulation center. This investment optimized the training of the crane operators and personnel for operating the Tagline System throughout the Arcadis Ost 1 project.
Arcadis Ost 1 set a pioneering precedent as the first offshore wind farm utilizing a floating vessel for the installation of some of the world’s biggest wind turbines. HARCO Heavy Lifting’s applications have played a pivotal role, offering precise control for both blade and Rotor Nacelle assembly (RNA) handling during the installation process.
The Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm is scheduled to begin operations in 2023, contributing ample green energy to power approximately 290,000 households.
